About

Background

I'm a senior software engineer on the device team at SiriusXM, building backend services in Scala with Cats Effect, running on AWS (Lambda, DynamoDB, Kinesis, Secrets Manager, CDK). I work remotely from Rome.

Before that I was at Kaluza (OVO Energy) in the UK, where I designed and led a GraphQL-over-Kafka API architecture — bridging a request/response API model onto an event-streaming backbone.

My path into software wasn't the usual one: I trained as a perito meccanico — a mechanical technician — before moving into engineering. That background shapes how I think about systems: tolerances, failure modes, and the difference between something that works on the bench and something that survives contact with production.
